Call for YouthLead Ambassadors – Apply Now for USAID Youth lead Ambassadors Program for Changemakers 2019


YouthLead is announcing its new YouthLead Ambassador activities for young changemakers.

 We seek a self-directed and motivated youth with a proven track record in mobilizing other young changemakers and youth in the course of their change making activities.

The YouthLead Ambassador applications will be open between Thursday, February 14 and Thursday, February 28, Midnight ET.

Who Are YouthLead Ambassadors?
YouthLead Ambassadors are local changemakers with a proven track record in mobilizing other young changemakers and youth in the course of their change making activities. Applicants need to have demonstrated that they can mobilize youth. As well as tech-savvy to navigate and post on the YouthLead platform and have a basic understanding of social media tools (Facebook and Twitter). (Applicants need to have a profile on YouthLead).

YOUTHLEAD AMBASSADORS ROLE



Time Commitment
Applicants will commit 4-6 hours per month to fulfill their role between March 15, 2019 through September 30, 2019.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be:

A young changemaker resident in a low-or-middle-income (LMIC) country as listed here, between the ages of 18-35 (at the time of application and through the end of September 2019).

Applicants from countries or entities on this list and those from Egypt and Jordan, are not eligible for the YouthLead Ambassador role.

Active as changemakers in any sector, at the local, regional, national, or global level.
Provide a convincing description of how they will use YouthLead to engage new changemakers, and recruit new changemakers to the YouthLead network and platform.
Willing to meet the requirements described in the role description above.
Able to commit to at least 4-6 hours/month to increase awareness about YouthLead, and to develop content, post resources, or organize and participate in activities that support peers through YouthLead.
Have created or are active members of a young changemaker network or affiliation.
Provide a convincing description of how they will use YouthLead to engage new changemakers, and recruit new changemakers to the YouthLead network and platform.
Have a YouthLead profile that is at least 80% complete. (Create your profile here if you are not yet a member of YouthLead).

Optional Criteria
A CV or resume (no more than 500-words Max.).
Benefits for YouthLead Ambassadors
YouthLead Ambassadors will receive a nominal stipend of $300 at the conclusion of their successful ambassadorship.[1] In addition, be featured on the YouthLead platform and social media announcements to recognize your work as a Young Changemaker.

Evaluation & Selection Criteria
Applicants will be reviewed and considered based on the following qualities:

Past experience as a young changemaker;
Scale and strength of the applicant’s network;
Potential impact of the applicant’s proposed contributions to YouthLead and its network.
The evaluation and selection process will take into account various factors, such as diversity in gender, sector, and geographic locations to select a diverse set of individuals that closely reflect the global community. The selection committee intends to select only one YouthLead Ambassador per country.

For this YouthLead Ambassador application, the same privacy rules will apply as outlined on the YouthLead platform here.

Please only submit one application in your preferred language (English or Spanish); submitting more than one application will not increase your chances of being selected as a YouthLead Ambassador. Thank you!
