A run down on the duration,fees and requirements for the foundation programme at Bayelsa State Medical University,  Onopa.
Bayelsa Medical University (BMU) located at Onopa in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State,Nigeria. It is a specialised medical university established to raise crops of professionally competent personnel in the multi-disciplinary study of medicine and allied medical sciences that are capable of identifying health needs and challenges of society and proffering solutions to such issues for the well-being of mankind.

PRE-MEDICAL FOUNDATION PROGRAMME (PMFP) / SCIENCE FOUNDATION PROGRAMME (SFP)

The Programmes Below Will Commence in April 2019

The courses of study are the Universities Matriculation Examination (UME) subjects which include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. An overall minimum score of 50% in the examinations and continuous assessment (comprising regular tests and assignments) is required to be qualified for consideration for admission into 100 Level of the relevant degree programmes of the University.

Have a minimum of 5 Credit passes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, including Mathematics and English for admission onto the Pre-Medical Foundation Programme (PMFP) / Science Foundation Programme (SFP) of the Bayelsa Medical University, Onopa .


The foundation programmes are full-time and will run from April, 2019 until September, 2019. It is an intensive programme aimed at preparing candidates for entry into the 100-level degree programmes offered by BMU subject to successful completion of the academic programme and passing the UTME examination with the required grades and available seats on the programmes.

1. PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION ADMISSION / REQUIREMENTS AND
FEE -  PRE-MEDICAL FOUNDATION PROGRAMME (PMFP) 

Faculty: Faculty Of Science
Duration: 6 Months

UTME Requirements
Five "O" level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agric. Science, Chemistry and one other Science subject.

UTME Subjects:

UTME subjects to include Biology, Chemistry and one other Science subject.

DIRECT ENTRY Requirements:
Two A level passes to include Biology and one other relevant subject. OND or HND with credit passes in relevant subjects.

Nigerian :  $ 2500. (₦ 900000)

Two  A  level passes to include Biology and Chemistry.
